Q: Where did you go to college?

A: I obtained both degrees at UTD from the school of Interdisciplinary Studies.  My BAIS was in Business and Marketing and my MAIS focused on Public Administration and Management with several cross-cultural communication and professional communication classes thrown in as well.

Q: What is your role in the Career Center?

A: I am the Associate Director of Career Development Programs, which means my team and I develop, market, and facilitate experiential learning opportunities and work-based learning programs, along with providing opportunities for students to meet informally with employers to get some practice networking with professionals.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: My favorite part of the job is when our programs result in success stories for students.  For example, I love it when a student participates in a job shadowing opportunity over Spring Break as part of our Explore the WOW externship program and that opportunity develops into an internship.  That’s awesome!!

Q: What is your favorite piece of advice for student?

A: Building strong communication skills early, starting as a freshman, will positively impact your personal, professional, and academic experiences for the rest of your life!  It’s a fact – I am not making this stuff up!

Q: Just for fun – what’s fact don’t most people know about you?

A: I’ve been to Guatemala, Brazil, Germany, Canada (twice), Budapest (twice), Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Denmark and London.
