Believe it or not, it is a fact that most of us get jobs when we connect with someone, some person. Connect with a person versus connecting with an electronic application.
One of the key foundational steps in any job search is identifying, building, and using your support system. Your support system serves as your brain trust to learn about new industries and positions that you may not be familiar with. It also serves as your net when you feel like you’re falling.

Networking is a key part of job searching. It’s also a really hard part of job searching! It can be awkward, and it is often difficult to find a place to start. One option is to seek out community groups that offer networking events for free. Religious organizations, professional groups, and social organizations can all offer this type of resource.
For instance, Jewish Family Services (a United Way organization) offers a variety of career resources for free. All services are open to all!
